Community Meal Planning

Planning is under way for the 5th annual Come Together Community Meal & Resource Fair on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Marshall White Center, 222 28th St., in Ogden.

We will set up on Friday, Nov. 6, in the afternoon and evening for setup, and Saturday, Nov. 7, for the meal.

Coats needed:

We are collecting new and gently used and laundered winter coats, hats and gloves for men, women and children of all ages to distribute to any attendees who need them.

Please check with family, friends and neighbors who might be able to help. It’s a good time to catch parents whose children have outgrown last year’s coats. If you are a member of a service group, please ask them to do a coat drive, or pass along their contact information and I’ll contact them.

We will also be distributing hygiene kits. We will be collecting supplies for those, as well as completed kits (in gallon plastic Zip-lock bags). Supplies can include toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, feminine hygiene items, body soap, shampoo, lip balm, and large- and small-toothed combs. Mission Statement

The mission of the Annual Come Together Community Meal and Resource Fair is to bring together houses of faith, nonprofit charities, governmental agencies and individual volunteers to provide hospitality, share resources, and relay information about services available for people who are in crisis, transition, or in poverty, while sharing a meal and conversation.

The Planning Committee will be meeting monthly for the next several months until we get closer to the Nov. 7 date. Several subcommittees have also formed to organize Publicity, Volunteers, Food, Services, Venue, etc.
