Community United Methodist Church is hosting a hunger awareness charity event called Bud’s Diner and they would like our church to join them.
The idea is simple: Bud’s Diner is a charity dinner focusing on world hunger. Diners will feast on one of four different meals, each of which will make a statement about the plight of those who suffer from the simple lack of a proper diet. “Customers” to the Diner will not know what meal they will be served until they arrive for dinner.
Four types of meals will be served:
- What an average American family might have for dinner.
- What a single mother on a low income or an elderly person on Social Security would have for dinner.
- What a homeless person would find to eat.
- What a family from a developing country would eat for their daily fare.
The dinner is at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, at CUMC, 163 West 4800 South in Washington Terrace. The cost is $10, and we must send in our RSVP by April 1. Let Pastor Gage know if you are interested in attending.
