In memory of Polly Harrington, the Harrington family has started a memorial endowment fund for our church.
An endowment fund is a financial asset meant to enhance the long-term financial health of the church. The fund is invested and left alone (not drawn upon) except during emergencies and for special projects. Many non-profit organizations use only the interest accrued from an endowment fund but never the principal. Large gifts like memorials and “planned giving” from wills and the like are often what fund an endowment.
The Gordon and Polly Harrington Memorial Endowment Fund is in its beginning stages. Your Board of Directors will be looking at official guidelines and ways to invest our endowment fund, which stands at about $700 at the moment.
If you would like to talk with someone about how you can plan to give to the future of our church through your will or other planned giving, please contact Gary Smith, chair of the Board of Directors.
