Free Community Meal is approaching

Save the date! The seventh annual Free Community Meal will take place Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Marshall White Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Volunteer opportunities before the event include collecting and sorting coats and hygiene kits and items. Last year our congregation met our goal of donating more than 100 coats; let’s do it again! New and gently used coats may be placed in the container in the Narthex.

As in past years, volunteers the day of the event will serve food, host tables, distribute coats and more … Details to come…  We hope to launch a website around Oct. 1. If you have questions or want to volunteer, see Jennifer Elwell or John Uscilka.

The mission of the Free Community Meal is to bring together houses of faith, nonprofit charities, government agencies and individual volunteers to provide hospitality, share resources, and relay information about services available for people who are in crisis, transition, or in poverty, while sharing a meal and conversation.
