One of our Mission:1 efforts is to collect food for local food pantries. News reports this past summer said that Utah food banks were constantly running low. With cold weather approaching, the need promises to become even greater.
We are collecting food in the church neighborhood at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. If you would like to help with the collection, just show up at the church.
You can also participate by collecting food in your own neighborhood! You can get door hangers at church, distribute them around your neighborhood, and then follow up by collecting nonperishable food items later. Bring the food to church, where we will count and collect it, and then we will take it all to one of the area food pantries.
And, of course, you can always bring food to the church at any time. We make trips to the food pantries every week with donations.
